Fire Control & Lighting

Fire Control & Lighting

Mt Hutt Helicopters work with land managers to provide fire control and lighting support services. Our customers include councils, the Department of Conservation, farmers and farm managers. Our machines can be equipped with Cloudburst Fire buckets and collapsable Dew Drop buckets which fit into each helicopter for easy transport.

The Cloudburst system incorporates a self-contained foam injection system activated by a simple push button. A pump delivers a foaming agent for a timed period, with time determined by our pilots. When they’re ready to dispense foam they’ll press the button to commence the time operation of the pump. The Cloudburst’s fast valve actuation allows our pilots to have precise control the load release.

The Cloudburst Fire Bucket ‘Monsoon Series’ gives us more efficient use of their airtime by using the ‘multi-drop ability’. This means our pilots have total and precise control of their payload – whether the fire is isolated or scattered.
