Josh | CEO
Josh Kershaw has 14 years of working in the aviation industry within New Zealand and the South Pacific, working on various operations from disaster response, federal police contracts and the mining sector. He believes in delivering a professional service through hard work, implementing, following procedures and protocol ensuring the work is completed to the highest standard. Josh was awarded a New Zealand Service Medal for his work in Banda Aceh following the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004.
Mark | Director & Engineer
Mark Kershaw has 17 years in the aviation industry all of which has been involved with helicopter maintenance. His experience ranges from major rebuilds, refurbishment, general line maintenance and modification. A large part of his work has been throughout the South Pacific, working in remote areas. He enjoys the challenges which this provides plus getting to work in some of the most unique and interesting places in the world. Mark manages the in house engineering side of the business.
Dave | Chief pilot – commercial
Bringing the renowned skills of kiwi pilots to the technically difficult job of high altitude exploration heli flying, Dave Kershaw is a pilot of more than 20 000 hours flying experience. His career began in 1975 where he worked in venison recovery with the Alpine Deer Group. Dave has flown the Sub Antarctic Islands throughout the Indian Ocean and the coast lines of the Antarctic while conducting Antarctic pilot ice training for Helicopters NZ and he spent 5 years as Chief Pilot based in Papua New Guinea.
Dan | operations manager & qa
Dan Kennedy joined Mt Hutt Helicopters in 2012 coming from a strong background in the ski industry. Over the winter months he spent 18 seasons working for, and in the latter years, leading Mt Hutt Ski Patrol and spent the summer months working for silage contractors in the agricultural industry. Dan coordinates the daily operations at Mt Hutt Helicopters and keeps all our procedures current.
Richard | Pilot
Richard Addis grew up on his family farm in Hawkes Bay. After farming and operating agricultural machinery in Australia and America he returned home to begin his aviation career.
With over 2000 hours of agricultural operations, long lining, fire fighting, wild animal recovery and survey work he joined Mount Hutt Helicopters in November 2016.
Bill | Pilot
Bill Hartree grew up on a farm in the Hawkes Bay and has been flying since 2005. He has 3500hrs in both fixed wing and helicopter operations with experience in agricultural spraying and wild animal recovery through to long line and geophysical survey work. He also spent time flying skydiving aircraft. He has extensive experience working offshore in Australia, America and Canada as well as an impressive list of countries on the African continent. Bill joined Mt Hutt Helicopters in 2012.
Tim | Pilot
Tim Hutchinson has lived up the head waters of the Rakaia river all his life. He runs a sheep and beef property as well as flying for Mt Hutt Helicopters. He started flying fixed wing aircraft in 1991 and helicopters commercially in 1999 and has a great knowledge of the local area. His time has been in heliskiing, hunting, power line surveys, fire fighting, long line operations and scenic flights throughout the South Island. Most of his flying time has been in the mountains which is his preferred environment.
Henry | Pilot
Henry Deans grew up on a farm in the Canterbury foothills where he began his working life before moving to the Kimberleys and Northern Territory as a head stockman. It was here he also began flying as a mustering pilot and now has over 2600 flying hours. His experience covers wild animal recovery, fire fighting, aerial filming, power line surveys, drill rig support and long line operations.
Henry now enjoys being back in New Zealand flying in the mountains where he grew up.
Adam | Ground Crew & Engineering
Adam Kershaw grew up in Central Otago in the aviation industry although unlike his brothers has spent most of his working life in the agricultural industry. His experience ranges from dairying through to sheep and beef farming but the high country is where he is most at home.
Adam joined Mt Hutt Helicopters in 2013 and is enjoying the change to the aviation industry as well as the new location of living in Methven.
Sandra | Accounts
Sandra Walker grew up in Christchurch and spent a few years living on the Gold Coast, Australia. After many years of office work, she left the city life to start a new business venture with her partner in the country. Now their business is well established she decided to embark on a new adventure and recently joined our team as a part-time Accounts Administrator. Based at the hangar, Sandra is enjoying the excitement of the aviation industry.
